Insurance Questions

You must see a doctor within 14 days.

Florida automobile insurance only give you 14 days to see a doctor after your automobile accident to initiate treatment where you PIP benefits apply. If you do not see a doctor during that time, you will lose your ability to use your PIP coverage for any necessary treatment. That makes it critical to consult with us promptly if you believe you have been injured in any way.

If you were treated at the site of your motor vehicle accident by a paramedic, according to the Florida Chiropractic Legal Team, that consitutes as your first treatment. If you have waited more than 14 days, you can still be treated by us, but not covered by your PIP insurance but you may be covered by other types of insurance.

Q: Will My Insurance Pay For Chiropractic Care?

If you've been in an auto accident, your insurance should pay for 100% care-at least up to a reasonable limit.

For other circumstances, coverage may depend on a few factors.

Do you have chiropractic coverage?
Is the healthcare provider included in your network?
If not, do you have out of network benefits?
If we find that you do not have coverage, or that you have only partial coverage we will work with you to provide affordable, easy payment terms.

Q: I have been to the hospital and my family doctor, do I really need to see a Medical Doctor and a Chirpractor?

You need to see Physicians who focus on the treatment and diagnosis of motor vehicle accident conditions. Family physicians normally do not diagnose or treat the underlying improper musculoskeletal viomechnics that can, and do, lead to future diseases. If you are still suffering from injuries, then a second opinion is necessary. If your Family physician has given you pills, you must understand that pills do not correct structural or soft tissue damage. There are specific therapies designed to help instead. We offer those therapies in our offices.

Q: What is Personal Injury Protection Insurance?

Personal Injury Protection Insurance (PIP) is an extension of car insurance that covers medical expenses (up to $10,000 in Florida) and in some cases, lost wages and other damages. PIP is sometimes referred to as a "no-fault" coverage, because statutes enacting it are generally known as no-fault laws, and PIP is designed to be paid without regard to "fault".

Q: Is there a time limit for me to come into your office, after being in a motor vehicle accident?

Unlike previous law which provides no particular time limit to seek treatment following a motor vehicle accident where your PIP (Personal Injury Protection) benefits apply, the new law give you only 14 days to seek treatment following the date of the accident. If you do not see a doctor during that time frame, you will lose the ability to use your PIP coverage that you've paid for, for any necessary treatment. This made it critical to consult with us promptly if you believe you have been injured in any way.

Q: Are there time limitations to my insurance benefits?

If you were not seen by a paramedic at the accident scene or treated by the Emergency Room, you have 14 days from the date of the accident to be seen by a physician/chiropractor or you will lose the accident insurance you paid for forever. Don't delay, come in today!
